Late Dr. RUDRAPPA MALLAPPA HADAOAD (1936 - 2003)
Hadapad was born in 1936 at Badami in Bijapur district.He studied at the JJ School of art, Mumbai in 1957. He began his career in 1961 as a teaching Superintendent at the Bangalore Branch of the Karnataka Fine Art Educational Society, Hubli. The Kannada University, Hampi had conferred on him its highest honour of "Nadoja" .The State Government had honoured him with the "Rajyotsava Award" and also the prestigious "Varnashilpi Venkatappa Award".
Hadapad started the Ken School of Art in 1968 and is credited to have produced large number of artists of repute.
Hadapad was the President of the Karnataka Lalit Kala Akademi. He was also a member of the Senate of the Kannada University, Hampi.
He never lost an opportunity to promote the cause of art as he believed that every artist has the responsibility to safeguard art from becoming stagnant.
