Late N.Marishamachar ( 1951-2013)
“Mari” as he was fondly called was a noted artist, writer and an art historian.
He was also known for his Sculptures, Photography and Print Making. He wrote over 50 books on visual art in Kannada.
Marishamachar was a student of R.M.Hadapad in Ken School and was awarded the K.K.Hebbar Memorial Award for his immense contribution in the field of visual arts in 2010.
His paintings have been exhibited at the Viswa Kannadigara Sammelana at Manchester, U.K and in renowned private collections in India and Europe, as well Lalit Kala Akademi, Bangalore and Delhi and the Raj Bhavan, Bangalore.
His works had a dream like quality and sought to resolve the contradictory aspects of reality and dreams.
He was the founder and president of Samyojitha—a group of contemporary artists in Karnataka.
